“The Irish Diaspora in Canada: A History, exhibit on Friday, October 27th to Sunday, October 29th, Victoria College, Alumni Hall, University of Toronto, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

“The Irish Diaspora in Canada: A History” exhibit focuses on how the diaspora influenced the complex and intrinsic relationship between Canada and Ireland. The mass migration of this period initiated major changes to both mid-19th century Canadian and Irish culture. These shifts are explored through visual displays and videos in this exhibit. “The Irish Diaspora in Canada: A History” was first displayed in August at the International Pavilion in Ottawa, and will now be hosted by Ireland Park Foundation in Toronto. “The Irish Diaspora in Canada: A History” exhibit focuses on how the diaspora influenced the complex and intrinsic relationship between Canada and Ireland. Poetry Walk with Ireland Park Poets, October 28th, 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM.

The Ireland Park Poets in association with former City Planner, Daniel Burns, will take you on a walk through the streets of Toronto to illuminate the depth of the Irish-Canadian connection. The walk combines both artistic and historic elements and evokes aspects of the Irish past in the landscape of Toronto through both a visual and a poetic journey.

The walk will begin at St. Mary’s Church at Adelaide W and Bathurst Streets and will conclude at Ireland Park on Eireann Quay by the waterfront.

Please note that the number of tickets is limited to 35 people.
